Hyvärilä Youth and Holiday Centre is like a small village in the middle of nature. It offers plenty of activities for young people and anyone involved in youth work all year round. Hyvärilä is a former farm located by the beautiful Lake Pielinen in Nurmes, North Karelia, Finland. Hyvärilä is also an excellent venue for a holiday, sports or different events.
An active nature holiday is possible with a wide range of sports facilities and rental equipment. You can stay, eat, go outdoors and go to the forest or to the water in the same yard. We offer breakfast and lunch buffet every day. In addition to hotel accommodation, you can stay in holiday apartments, the more affordable Rantatupa or in the campsite's cottages.
We are one of nine youth centres in Finland, so youth work is close to our hearts. We have years of experience in organising camp schools, youth camps and events.
We are located in North Karelia, an hour and a half drive from Kuopio, Joensuu and Kajaani. The distance to the centre of Nurmes is 3 km, which can be easily covered by Katur, a taxi or by bike. The Koli, Tiilikkajärvi and Hiidenport National Parks are an hour's drive from Hyvärilä.

Hyvärilä is a Green Key certified youth and holiday center, located on the shore of Lake Pielinen in North Karelia. Location determines our involvement in the international Green Key environmental program.
Are you interested in international travels and meeting people from other countries? One of our tasks is to help young people and youth workers find their own pathway to internationality, with due consideration to their financial situation. We are part of an international youth work network and aim to promote international youth travel.
